Rob Stone, CCM, CCE
Rob was raised in Niagara Falls, NY and graduated with a Hotel and Restaurant degree from Niagara University where he is currently a member of the Advisory Council for the College of Hospitality and Tourism Management. After graduating college, he became the Assistant General Manager at Park Country Club in Buffalo and moved on to become the General Manager of Monroe Golf Club in Rochester. While in Rochester, he was recruited to be the General Manager of Inverness Club in Toledo, which was ranked as one of the top forty country clubs in the United States and one of the top seventy private clubs in the world. Rob then became the General Manager at Crag Burn Golf Club in Buffalo, NY. Rob is married to his wife Emmy and has two sons Elliot and Oscar.
Clubhouse Manager/Assistant General Manager
Sam comes to Atlantic Beach Country Club from the Oaks Club in Osprey, Florida where he has spent the last two years as Food & Beverage Manager. Sam’s journey in club management started at the University of Central Florida where he was an accomplished member of the student chapter of the Club Managers Association and progressed to Food & Beverage Manager at Interlachen Country Club in Winter Park, Florida, for seven years.
Sam’s success comes from a passion for service that is clearly evident within the first minute you meet him. Sam is truly excited to make connections with the members and staff as Clubhouse Manager/Assistant General Manager and hopes to make a positive impact at Atlantic Beach Country Club for years to come.
Alison came to Atlantic Beach Country Club from Deerwood Country Club where she served in the same role for over 10 years. Prior to that she was with Deloitte and Touche and has her accounting degree from Truman State University in Missouri. She and her husband have two children and reside at the Beaches.
Head Golf Professional
Jason was born and raised in southern New Jersey. He graduated from Penn State’s Professional Golf Management program in 1997. He earned his PGA Class-A membership in 1998 and is presently one of only a handful of Certified PGA Professionals in Golf Operations. Jason’s professional experiences have centered around high-end private country clubs with a focus on superior member and guest service through his Daily Golf Experience model. As a progressive leader in creating a fun, family centered environment for his memberships, Jason has had consistent success at clubs such as Baltimore Country Club, South Bend Country Club and The Hawthorns Golf & Country Club. Additionally, he has a strong background in golf instruction and junior golf programming with measurable success as a former Director of Instruction. Jason has been married to his wife Beth for 15 years. Jason and Beth have two children, son Jayden (14) who is a passionate golfer and daughter Mia (12) who loves soccer and golf.
Corey Smith’s Culinary career began at a private golf club in Peoria, Illinois at the early age of 15. Spending time freshwater fishing, hunting waterfowl and white deer allowed him to prepare his catch of the day at a young age. This challenged him and brought out a passion for cooking. Moving to Houston, Texas to obtain his culinary degree, he was fortunate to work with one of the top private club Chef’s in the country at River Oaks Country Club. In 2012, he relocated to Fort Worth, Texas and worked at The Fort Worth Club until moving here to Atlantic Beach Country Club. He is a Certified Executive Chef and actively competes in culinary exhibitions, where he has won gold medals in the American Culinary Federation.
Bill McConnell, USTPA
Director of Tennis
At the young age of 8 years old, Bill learned to play tennis on the clay courts of the Boca Raton Resort & Club; in the same town in which he was born and raised. In 1996, after graduating from Florida State University, Bill returned back to the resort to start his career as a teaching professional. He moved to Westport Connecticut in 1998 where he was the Director of Tennis at Westport Tennis Club as well as the Patterson Club. Bill moved to Richmond Virginia in 2003, where he worked as the Head Professional at the Dominion Club for 8 years before he returned to the sunshine state. Bill worked as the Head Professional at both the Plantation at Ponte Vedra and The Ponte Vedra Inn and Club before coming to ABCC in 2016.
With more than 20 years of country club experience Bill enjoys sharing and teaching the great game of tennis to both young and old and is a USPTA Certified Elite Professional.
Director of Fitness & Aquatics
Ryan hails from Jacksonville, FL and has an undergraduate degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University. Ryan has ten years of experience in both the aquatics and fitness industry and brings passion and intelligence to his position at ABCC. Ryan is certified as a personal trainer, lifeguard instructor, TRX instructor and certified pool operator. One thing Ryan works on more than anything is building relationships with whomever he meets. When in doubt, just say hello!
Catering and Events Director
Susan is an event planner, administrator and organizer with over fifteen years of experience in these fields. This includes over five years at Sawgrass Country Club where she managed the Tennis Pro Shop, organized events and managed inventory. When Susan is not planning an event she is volunteering with the Teen Ministry at her church and other various organizations. She is excited to be a part of the Atlantic Beach Country Club team.
